Immobilized Electrolyte

Term for a non-liquid electrolyte.

Here, the liquid acid has been gel-bonded by adding an additive such as silica or rendered immobile by glass fiber mat separators.

Synonym: Movable electrolyte, bound electrolyte, fixed electrolyte
