Early years & family tradition

David García Almansa was born on January 22, 2006 in Argamasilla de Calatrava (Ciudad Real). Motorsport runs in his family: his father runs a motorcycle workshop, which his grandfather also ran. Even as a child, David was fascinated by motorcycles - he was given a small electric trial bike at the age of three, a Minimoto at the age of five and started competing at the age of six.
His home is still important to him today: the Corral de Calatrava karting circuit, which is located near him, was "like a second home" for him. At the age of 15, he left home to pursue his dream - a step that allowed him to mature personally.

The path via junior series

David Almansa's career has taken him through the Spanish junior racing series and beyond. He was already successful at a young age: he became Spanish champion in the Moto5 class in 2019 after finishing runner-up the year before. In 2021, he took part in the European Talent Cup, where he won his first race and made a name for himself.
In 2022, he switched to the FIM JuniorGP (formerly Junior World Championship), where he competed on a KTM for the Finetwork MIR Racing Team. In his debut season, he showed his potential with two podium finishes and even won the final race of the season.

Moto3 World Championship: Debut and development

David Almansa made his first appearance in the Moto3 World Championship circuit before his full entry: he rode several wildcard races between 2022 and 2023.
For the 2024 season, he signed a contract with the Snipers team and had his first full Moto3 year. However, the season did not get off to an easy start: he suffered an injury early on, which affected his performance. His best result of the season was 11th place and he finished the year in 22nd place in the overall standings.

Milestones 2025: Pole positions & lap records

In 2025, David Almansa competed for Leopard Racing, an important step in his career. This season, he made it clear that he can keep up with the fastest Moto3 riders:

  • He took his first pole position in Moto3 at the GP of Catalonia (Barcelona Circuit) .
  • In Termas de Río Hondo (Argentina) , he set a new lap record in free practice.
  • In the race, he showed growing consistency and speed: in Argentina, he led several laps and ultimately finished in 6th place.

Team change & looking ahead: 2026 at Intact GP

Another important career step is imminent: David Almansa is moving from Leopard Racing to the LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP Team for the 2026 season. This move shows that his potential is seen by established teams and that he should continue to grow.
His goal is clear: he not only wants to regularly compete for top positions, but also prepare the next step towards MotoGP. His development, his ambition and his achievements to date make him one of the most promising young talents in motorcycle racing.
