The protective equipment of a Moto2 rider:
Safety in every second

Motorcycling in Moto2 racing demands absolute safety - and that's exactly why you need the perfect motorcycle protective equipment. From the high-quality leather suit to gloves, motorcycle boots, extensive protectors, the innovative airbag and the vital helmet as well as the aerodynamic racing suit: each component fulfills its purpose - and the sum makes the difference.
The racing suit is a specially manufactured leather suit, tailor-made and precisely fitted for maximum safety and comfort. It protects against abrasion; high-quality protectors are fitted to particularly vulnerable areas - shoulders, elbows, knees and hips - to absorb impact forces and reduce the risk of broken bones.
The leather suit has an aerodynamic hump on the back - the "Speed Hump" - which ensures better airflow, offers space for electronics and provides additional protection for the spine.
Since 2018, a suit with an integrated airbag has been mandatory in all MotoGP classes, including Moto2. This regulation serves to provide riders with the best possible protection in extremely dangerous situations.

The airbag system in the racing suit is a high-tech electronic feature that is triggered in a fraction of a second in the event of a fall. Sensors - such as accelerometers, gyroscopes and GPS - detect the fall and activate the airbag, which wraps around the shoulders, collarbones, ribcage and back to soften the impact forces. The airbag is fully inflated in just 25 milliseconds - significantly faster than the blink of an eye.
The system works independently of the motorcycle, does not allow any cable connections and has undergone rigorous testing to prevent false or unintentional deployments.

The helmet is often the last - and most important - line of defense. A high-quality helmet with a robust outer shell material and shock-absorbing inner lining protects against serious head injuries, especially concussions.

Gloves are made of durable leather and have special protectors on the wrist, knuckles and fingers. These protect you in the event of a fall when your hands touch the asphalt. At the same time, sensitive control of the motorcycle is guaranteed - thanks to optimum flexibility and feel. Reports from GP riders confirm this: Full Metal gloves offer perfect protection with carbon and titanium reinforcements.
The hard-wearing leather gloves are reinforced with special protectors to provide the best possible protection in the event of a fall.
The motorcycle boots protect the feet, ankles and shins - while at the same time ensuring controlled grip. Reinforced areas on the ankles, shins and toes reduce the risk of injury in the event of a fall. Modern racing boots contain special inner shells that prevent hyperextension without impairing mobility.
The specially made motorcycle boots are designed to protect riders from injury.
In addition to the racing suit, riders wear specialized protectors: back protectors that protect the spine and chest protectors that cover the chest and ribs. The combination of leather suit and built-in protectors provides optimum protection - light, comfortable and effective.
