Forster FishingDurable Marine Battery

Completely leak-proof, splash-proof and durable battery for fishing. Supplies equipment with 12, 24 or 36 volts equally reliable and enduring in every use.
Our recommendation if you want a particularly long-lasting battery in the marine sector.

Features

  • Leak-proof and splash-proof.

Your advantage: This battery can be operated safely on bodies of water.

  • Very long service life

Unlike lead-acid batteries, which sulfate at low charge, the LiFePO4 battery is resistant to deep discharge. It can withstand far more charge cycles to a significantly lower depth.
Your advantage: You get a particularly long-lasting battery.

  • 100% usable capacity and expandable

Unlike lead-acid batteries, the entire energy of this extremely compact LiFePO4 can be used. In addition, up to four batteries of the same type can be connected in parallel.
Your advantage: Significantly increased capacity in a small space.

Characteristics

  • Safe lithium technology (LiFePO4).
  • Particularly good space utilization due to prismatic cells (Power Prismatic Cells / BPC).
  • Forster Power Battery Management System (BMS) for safe operation and long service life.
  • Supports almost all boosters, shore chargers and solar charge controllers thanks to Multi Charge Mode (MCM).
  • Advanced cold resistance for use down to -20°C.
  • High heat tolerance for safe supply even at ambient temperatures up to 60° C.
  • IP67 protection class for use even in humid/wet conditions.
  • Weight and space savings of up to 75% compared to a conventional battery of the same capacity.
  • Low self-discharge. Loses only 2 to 3 % charge per month.
  • Flexible installation position. Can be installed upright, lying down, upside down and in any other position.
  • Resistant to low charge. No sulfation. High performance throughout the discharge period.
  • Extremely long life expectancy with full capacity utilization. Up to 4,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge (= 80% DOD).
  • Monitoring via integrated Bluetooth Free Smart Connect app for Android and iOS.
  • Fully charged extremely quickly. bsorbs extremely high charging currents in a very short time (charging time depends on capacity and charger).
  • Ready for installation and immediate use.
  • Absolutely maintenance-free.

Battery knowledge

Safety instructions for handling acid
Battery acid consists partly of sulphuric acid, which is highly corrosive. It attacks your skin, textiles and even metal. Put on protective clothing! So always wear gloves, safety glasses and possibly an acid-proof apron when handling batteries. Choose …
Cleanliness pays off
To ensure proper battery function, it makes sense to keep the battery surface clean and dry. Greasy or silicone-containing dirt on the lid can hinder the flow of current. Moisture on the battery can cause a short circuit in the worst case.
What does pole growth on the battery mean?
Whitish-grey deposits on the poles, so-called "pole growth", is caused by strong sulphation on the plates. Tip: Always ensure a good state of charge.
Charging correctly step by step
Tip: For full performance: Charge before first installation! 1. preparation Check that your charger matches the battery. Does the charger support the correct charging voltage? Does the charging current provided match the battery? What charging curve …
What waterproof brings
Ideally, batteries should be kept dry. Even slight moisture can promote leakage currents. If you've noticed condensation on your battery frequently in the past, such as with temperature fluctuations, or water can get to your battery, it's worth considering …
Always choose a battery that matches the load
Depending on the type of battery, it is designed for certain loads: Starter batteries must deliver as much current as possible during the starting process. The cold start current, measured in CCA, is informative here and shows how much starting power …
Round cell supply batteries
Similar to the tank cell, the surface area is increased by "winding" the grids, resulting in a larger amount of active mass. The box size is relatively compact, so you get the benefits of a utility battery in a small space, along with good starting …
What is a supply battery?
Supply batteries must provide power for as long as possible for consumers that are not connected to the regular power grid or the starter battery. Either in mobile applications, e.g. camping or in island installations such as mountain huts, or in safety …
Time for recovery
Before the winter or summer break, it is best to remove the battery or at least disconnect it and store it in a cool (ideally at 10 to 15 °C) and dry place. Charge every 4 to 6 weeks for 24 to 48 hours with a suitable charger. Check the state of charge …
For plugs: Simply open them and look inside.
Low maintenance batteries have a distinct advantage: if something is wrong, you can open them and look inside. What you see will give you some clues. Warning: You can tell if the battery can be opened by the individual plugs on the top. Often these lead-acid …

What is a Supply Battery?

Supply batteries must provide power for as long as possible for consumers that are not connected to the regular power grid or the starter battery. Either in mobile applications, e.g. camping or in island installations such as mountain huts, or in safety applications when the normal power grid fails or to compensate for so-called mains wipers. Depending on the application, they are charged with a charger from the mains or via smaller photovoltaic or wind power systems.

So not only do they have to supply power for a long time and then take it up again well, but they also have to cope well with changing current levels and voltages.

Supply batteries are cyclic batteries, i.e. they are designed to continuously deliver current up to a maximum depth of discharge of 80% when supplying electrical consumers and then to be fully recharged again. In contrast, a starter battery delivers a short, strong current surge for starting the engine and is recharged by the alternator while driving.
