Let's go in the Wild West of Texas // 10.04.2014

On Tuesday the Dynavolt Intact GP team took the plane to America, more precisely to Austin, the capital of the U.S. state of Texas. There the second round of the 2014 MotoGP season will be held this weekend.

2013 the motorcycle world championship took place for the first time at the Circuit of the Americas. A year ago it was the second race for Sandro Cortese in the Moto2 category.

With constant top 5 finishes during this year's preseason and with the second starting grid position in the opening race at Qatar the former Moto3 world champion has shown that nowadays he is one of the top riders in this class.

After a crash in Doha qualifying at the end of march, the Kalex rider participated in the race with a broken heel bone and was still able to take seventh and to secure valuable nine points. In the past two weeks, the 24 -year-old prepared for Texas with an individually fitness training. Although he is not yet 100 %, Sandro Cortese is optimistic for the weekend.

Sandro Cortese:

"Compared to Doha I do feel much better. There I had to finish the race with big pain and I was still very off-colour. Of course I 'm not 100%, but let's say 75-80 %. We have to see how the foot behaves over the race weekend. I look forward to it. The track is very challenging and I just want to pick up where I left off in Doha in qualifying. I think it will be a good weekend!"

The track on the outskirts of Austin offers impressive differences in height of almost 41 meters with a spectacular uphill section at the end of the start -finish straight. A mix of fast straights and tight hairpins offers pure excitement. The 5.513 km long circuit with a total of 20 corners - 9 right-handers and 11 left-handers - was designed by German architect and track designer Hermann Tilke. The direction goes counter clockwise.
